For the first time the Methodist Church has joined with MMHS and other charities to share Christmas hope through people’s pandemic experiences.

And those stories include our very own Meryl Bedford from the Welsh borders. Her husband of 58 years, Derek, died this year in a care home – just after we featured the couple in the Summer edition of Roof ‘n’ Roots.

‘We are loved by a God who is with us always, no matter what we’re going through or what the future brings’

But Meryl has found peace in her faith during a traumatic time. And she shares a message of hope in a video and in an indepth article, as part of the #GodIsWithUs campaign.

Endorsing #GodIsWithUs is our former Board member Revd Richard Teal, now President of the Methodist Conference. ‘We are loved by a God who is with us always, no matter what we’re going through or what the future brings,’ said Richard, who has also written a reflective piece for us in the Winter 2020 edition of Roof ‘n’ Roots.

The campaign is a partnership across the whole Methodist family, including – the Connexional Team, JPIT (Joint Public Issues Team), Methodist Schools, Methodist Forces Board, MHA, All We Can, Action for Children, Methodist Ministers’ Housing Society, Methodist Women in Britain, and LWPT (the Leaders of Worship and Preachers Trust).
